Hey, thanks for joining me on the blog! Do you ever find yourself consumed with worry and anxiety whenever you sense that someone might be upset or angry with you? As a single mom who has experienced emotional abuse, this feeling can be all too familiar. But have you ever stopped to wonder why this happens and how it might be affecting your mental and emotional well-being? In this blog post, Let’s explore the reasons behind these feelings and provide some strategies to help alleviate that pit in your stomach. So sit back, relax, and let’s take a look at why this may be happening with our emotions and relationships. By understanding the root causes of your anxious feelings, you can start to realize why you feel this way and break free free from the fear of others’ disapproval.

The Effect of Emotional Abuse

One possible reason for constantly worrying about someone being angry or upset with us could be the lingering effects of emotional abuse. When someone has experienced emotional abuse, they may have developed a deep fear of confrontation and disapproval from others. This fear can lead to constantly worrying about potential conflict and always wanting to make sure everything is ok with all friends and family. If one person becomes upset, you may or may not feel insecure about the other relationships in your life.

The Silent Treatment

Another aspect of emotional abuse is the use of the silent treatment. This can leave a lasting impact you and how you handle conflict in your personal relationships. A person who has experienced the silent treatment may constantly worry about upsetting others for fear of being ignored or abandoned. If you have experienced the silent treatment, it can break you to your core. This is the worst feeling because it is as if you don’t exist. As a result, you may not want to share your thoughts or feelings in any situation for fear of disapproval. Even in in a what may seem like a small disagreement.

Fear of Abandonment

The fear of abandonment is another common effect of emotional abuse. This fear can cause someone to constantly worry about others being upset with them. In addition, they may feel deep down in their heart that they are not lovable and will be abandoned by those they care about. This fear can be overwhelming and lead to having anxious feelings in their personal & professional relationships, even if there is no real reason for it.

Your Emotional Health
