When you’re a busy mom sleep is so important for your emotional, mental and physical well-being especially if you have endured an unhealthy relationship. Getting enough sleep means we are ready to take on the day with kids, work, after school sports, meals along with having the energy to spend quality time with our kids. I wish I would have known how to quiet my mind when I felt so anxious 20 years ago after leaving an unhealthy relationship.

When your left to worry

I remember tossing and turning and thoughts running through my mind wondering how I was going to successfully co-parent 2 children with him. I wanted peace & harmony for them and myself. He once told me that if I left him, he would make my life miserable. He certainly tried and there were times I just couldn’t sleep. My mind was left to worry about the threats he made.

What’s there to worry about?

One time, he came into the bank where I worked and waited for me to see a few customers and then came into my office to talk. He didn’t bank there so, it was personal. It was only a couple months after I had left our family home that he told me someone (one of the drug dealers) he dealt with wanted to pipe bomb his family. He told me he was very concerned because I had the same last name as he did and it was listed in my apartment building. Looking back, he intentionally said, I just hope they don’t get the wrong person. You’re safety is important to me.

How do you sleep?

This truly disturbed me and had me tossing and turning at night unable to sleep. I wish I would have known about the powerful essential oil “Release“. As a highly sensitive person to medication, I love natural solutions. Diffusing this oil at night has a huge impact on my sleeping well at night through stressful situations where I would have been up all night thinking about what to do. This oil has a tendency to calm the mind. I have been diffusing it and using 2-3 drops in my desert mist diffuser. It has been a game changer for my husband as well. There are many nights he has told me “he just couldn’t sleep” and was out int the living room watching tv.

One Last Thing…
