So what’s the verdict for you? Is Christmas a celebration or an obligation? Let’s take a closer look.

The Case for Celebration

For many people, Christmas is the best time of year. It’s a time to take a break from work, spend time with loved ones, and relax. There’s no pressure to perform or meet anyone’s expectations but your own. You can just sit back, put your feet up, and enjoy the season.

The above is definitely the BEST way to celebrate Christmas!

The Case for Obligation

For others, Christmas is more of a burden and filled with anxiety rather than joy. They feel like they HAVE to spend money they don’t have on gifts they don’t need. This breaks my heart! It really doesn’t have to be this way. Want to relieve stress and anxiety? Check out the WAVwatch. Get $100 off by using the code Renee100. This works amazing for me. However, for some, if patterns are broken in the family – there are consequences. They know what the consequences are from relatives that have broken traditions or the patterns expected of them.

In addition, they have to put on a brave face and pretend everything is fine, even if it isn’t. Why do you feel obligated to do this?

Even more, they have to cook huge meals and entertain guests. It all becomes too much—and instead of enjoying the holidays, they end up dreading them. This is so sad.

What are your Values?

Learning about your values (what’s most important to you) can have a great, positive impact in your life. Your values guide you in life and help you realize what you like and dislike.

One more thing…

So which is it? Is Christmas a celebration or an obligation? The answer is…it depends. For some people, it’s a time to celebrate. For others, it’s more of a burden than anything else.

If you find yourself feeling stressed and overwhelmed this holiday season, remember that it’s okay to take a step back and do what’s best for you. After all, that’s what the holidays are all about—spending time with loved ones and making memories that will last a lifetime. I support you in in enjoying the celebration, no matter how hard it is.
