How to budget for Kid’s Extracurricular Activities Living Paycheck to Paycheck

Can you feel the financial stress building when it’s time to pay for kids’ Extracurricular activities? I used to feel the same way! After the sporting fee’s, then comes the equipment, uniforms and accessories they need to play the sport. It all becomes a large expense.

If you are like me, you want your kids to be well rounded, get exercise and be involved in extracurricular activies. In addition, you want to support their passions and excitement. Not to mention, it’s very fun to cheer them on.

Of course, you want to have control over your money and not feel controlled by your money.

Being Controlled by your money

When it comes to budgeting or paying for extracurricular activities, it’s common to either:

1) Decide you are going to put the extracurricular expenses on a credit card. Here is a beginner’s guide to How a credit card works.

2) Take out a small loan to cover all the expenses. Here is the best and easiest way to establish credit.

3) Make sacrifices in your budget to cover the extracurricular fee’s. Here are 6 motivational reasons to create a budget.

3 reasons to avoid adding Kids Extracurricular fees to your credit card

In reality, there is a huge downside of adding the extracurricular fee’s, equipment and apparel to your credit card.

  1. As a result, you will have to pay interest on the amount you cannot pay back in a month, making the extracurricular activity more expensive.
  2. Consequently, if you don’t have the money to pay for it now, typically you won’t have the money in the future.
  3. It’s important to realize, it is common for people to overspend when putting expenses on a credit card.

5 reasons to avoid taking out a loan for extracurricular fee’s & expenses

  1. First, you will have a monthly payment for approximately one year.
  2. Likewise, you will pay interest charges and loan fees. The interest rate is determined by your credit score.
  3. Not to mention, if you have a secured loan, you will need something for collateral. For example, a vehicle.
  4. Furthermore, if you have an unsecured loan, the interest rate is typically higher.
  5. Additionally, if you are unable to make your monthly payments, it will negatively affect your credit score.

If you decide to take out a loan for extracurricular fee’s, what is your plan for next year? How can you avoid taking out a loan in the future?

3 reasons to avoid making sacrifices in your current budget

I have done this in the past. Here is what I experienced.

  1. Consequently, it adds stress to any budget, especially living paycheck to paycheck.
  2. For instance, when we cut out a category like eating out, it created more stress. With this in mind, eating out is entertainment. If you are like me, you like to be entertained by dining out. It certainly doesn’t have to be fancy. Our family loves pizza!
  3. It’s important to realize, when you create a budget, you try as hard as you can to stay on target with expenses. Consequently, something in the budget has to give. For this reason it creates tension, stress and frustration.

None of these options sound wonderful. As parents, you know you are going to pay the extracurricular expense someway, somehow. Sometimes, I would avoid thinking about it, which makes it even worse!

Be in control of your money

Above all, paying for extracurricular fee’s doesn’t have to be stressful! I have the perfect solution for you! It’s what I use today to stay financially organized in my life.

After being tired of living paycheck to paycheck, I came up with a plan. My favorite solution is a powerful budget that I created. It is the same budget I use today to make large payments for extracurricular fee’s.

It’s important to realize, the very best way to keep your hard-earned money is to have plan. It’s important to remember that your plan needs to include an awesome budget that works hard for you. Check out 6 Motivational Reasons to Create a Budget.

I am not talking about some run of the mill, ordinary budget with income minus expenses equals your cash left over. To emphasize, I know this type of budget, I had it and it doesn’t work.

The best plan to pay for Kids Extracurricular Activities

To clarify, I am talking about a powerful budget with important details that really zero in on your incomeexpenses and savings. A budget that will keep your hard-earned money in your pocket. A budget that will help you save money for big expenses throughout the year like extracurricular activities and my Amazon Prime membership.

I created an awesome, hard-working budget that will do all of this just this for you.

Above all, it’s not just an ordinary budget. It is designed especially for you so you can save money throughout the year. Essentially, you are making payments to yourself! As a result, this will allow you to pay the activity fee’s in full and potentially have money left over for equipment. In the long run, you will save money by using this budget!

How will this budget help you?

  • You will no longer be paying interest fee’s on your credit card.
  • No paying fee’s or interest on loans.
  • Will alleviate the stress of where/how to get the money.
  • Alleviates the tension of making sacrifices in your budget.
  • It will save you time.
  • This budget will save you money!
