1. Exercising

Exercise is a great way to relieve stress and anxiety. Not only does it release endorphins, which have mood-boosting properties, but it also helps to clear your mind and focus on something other than your worries. If you don’t have time for a full workout, take a walk or do jumping jacks for 1 minute. Any small amount of movement or exercise can help to improve your mood. Fresh air is the best air!

2. Spending time outside

Spending time in nature has been shown to reduce stress and anxiety levels. One study found that just 20 minutes of walking in a park was enough to significantly reduce stress levels. So, if you’re feeling overwhelmed, stressed or just need some emotional healing, get some fresh air and enjoy nature. Some of my favorites are going to the beach, taking a nature walk, walking through the park, kayaking and cross country skiing.

3. Journaling

Journaling is a great way to get all of your thoughts and feelings out on paper (or on screen). It can be helpful to write down what is causing you stress or anxiety so that you can better deal with it. Additionally, journaling can help you to track your progress as you work on reducing your stress levels.

4. Epsom salt bath

Did you know being in water is also proven to help reduce stress? In addition, adding epson salt to your bath is a proven way to help reduce stress which relaxes your body. Epsom salt contains magnesium, which is known to help promote relaxation and reduce inflammation. So, add some epsom salt to a warm bath and soak for 20-30 minutes before bed or whenever you need to relax.

5. Yoga

Yoga is another great way to reduce stress and anxiety levels. It combines deep breathing with physical activity and has been shown to be an effective way to cope with stress. If you’ve never tried yoga before, there are plenty of beginner-friendly classes available both in-person and online. My favorite is Yoga with Adriene! She always has Benji her dog by her side 😊

6. Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy is the use of essential oils for relaxation purposes. Essential oils are extracted from plants and have been used for centuries for their medicinal properties. Aromatherapy has been shown to be an effective way to reduce stress and anxiety levels. Additionally, aromatherapy can also help to improve sleep quality
